Surgical Services

We provide a very wide range of surgical services at Donnybrook Vets. We can carry out routine surgeries such as neutering and provide surgeries such as lump removals, surgery to repair hernias and exploratory surgeries for pets that may have eaten something they shouldn’t have!

We understand how worrying it is when your furry little friend needs to have surgery, so our team will explain the surgical procedure in full beforehand.

At Donnybrook Vets we only use the best anaesthetic protocols and equipment to look after your pet. All patients receive intravenous fluids before, during and after surgery to make sure that they stay hydrated and to support their organs when they are undergoing an anaesthetic and surgery, this also helps them to recover quicker from the anaesthetic and surgical procedure. After their surgery, when they are suitably recovered from their anaesthetic, all patients get their lunch which is a suitable recovery diet. We care for each pet as if they were our own when they are staying in with us.

Neutering

There are many benefits to neutering your pet. Neutering your pet will prevent life threatening womb infections, preventing ovarian cancer and can prevent hormone driven tumours.

Neutering procedures are routine surgery procedures. Your pet will need to stay with us for the day but will go home to you the same evening.

At Donnybrook Vets all pets undergoing neutering are given intravenous fluids for the procedure and whilst they recover.

This helps keep your pet hydrated, supports their organs whilst under anaesthetic and helps them to recover quicker from the anaesthetic and surgical procedure.

Another major advantage of this is having venous access ready in the event of any emergency situation during the procedure.

Pain relief is given to your pet at the time of surgery and your pet will go home with pain relief for you to give at home for the next few days as your pets recovers.

After neutering all of our patients are given their lunch which is a recovery diet. Nutrition after surgery plays a massive part in recovery and healing.

This is exactly what we would want when neutering our on pets so this is what will be provided when neutering yours! All of these additional items are included in our neutering price.
